When coping with loss, it isn't unusual to feel so desperate that you are willing to do almost anything to alleviate or minimize the pain.
When bargaining starts to take place, its not unusual for one to look a higher power, or something outside ourselves to help influence a different outcome. There is an acute awareness of our humanness in these moments when we realize we are not in control and cant seem to find a way out of the grief.
This feeling of helplessness can cause us to react in protest by bargaining, which gives us a perceived sense of control over something that feels so out of control. While bargaining we also tend to focus on our personal choices and question them…”Did I do something wrong to cause this?” or “Did I not do enough to overcome this?” we ask.
For me there would be a set back with my health and I'd take a step back from life, I did that over and over again to protect myself until my life was completely unrecognizable.
